6. A. Describe why are Prof. Stephen Hawking’s books

B. Write a paragraph on computer. 3M
Computer is one the most wonderful inventions of modern
science. It is fairly a recent invention. It has now become a part and parcel
of day-to-day life. The computer was invented by an English mathematician
called Charles Babbage. Computers are two basic types: analogue and digital.
Analog: computers deal with physical qualities and digital computers deal with
numbers. Computers have five major components; input, store, control,
processing and output. Every computer has a language of its own. It is called a
programming language. The computer has brought about a revolutionary change in
our life. It can solve the complex mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
This is why many people call the computer an electronic brain.

Stephen Hawking? 7M
B. Write a paragraph on evaluating a personality. 3M
Psychologists
have developed many questionnaires, tests, inventories to study personality.
The inventories will contain a set of questions or statements meticulously
prepared on the problem under study.
Each
question will have two answers-either yes or no, and the subject has to mark
the answer which best suits his nature. This method is easy to administer and
to collect data from a large number of people at a time.
The necessary instructions and directions will be available
on the face page itself. The subject has to read carefully before answering in
order to avoid any confusion.

B. Write a paragraph on your opinion that hockey is more
fun than chess.3M
Hockey is a sport, chess is a game. These two are
incomparable. I prefer chess to hockey. Chess makes a person smarter at chess and probably smarter
in general for kids(at the brain development stage). When one becomes an adult
and got mind maturity, playing chess does not seem to have effect on his/her
I.Q. Kasparov said" A grandmaster needs to retain thousands of games in
his head, for games are to him what the words of their mother tongue are to
ordinary people, or notes or scores to musicians.."
Chess teaches life
skills:- From chess, one can learn how to think/plan ahead, strategic thinking,
foreseeing the problems and getting adjusted to future consequences, long term
thinking, sacrificing short term benefits to achieve long term goals, time
management, etc.
Life has many twists and turns. Games like football, hockey
etc teaches like skills much more than chess. In football one has a clear cut
goal (Goal scoring), how to pass on the ball from one team mate to another (Planning/Strategy),
Tactical/short-term gains(corner, free kicks), which opponent player will get
the ball next(foreseeing), Time management, working as a team(Team spirit),
etc.
9. A. Explain what are the EIGHT lessons than one can learn
from Prof. Stephen Hawking’s life? 7M
B. Write a paragraph on coal is type of renewable resource. 3M
The coal we use today
started as living plants millions of years ago. The plants soaked up light from
the sun which they then used to create energy through photosynthesis.
These plants were
located in areas with a lot of swampy lands with groundwater in or even on top
of the soil. Over millions of years, the plants died and sank to the bottom of
the bog as they decomposed.
Slowly these sediments
worked their way deeper into the ground. Time and pressure eventually compacted
the energy-rich plant remains into solid black or dark brown coal deep in the
earth.
Unearthing the coal can
also release dangerous gasses that can harm the coal miners and cause
explosions. There is also a risk of being trapped in the mines, and for
underground fires that burn for decades, releasing more fumes and gasses into
the atmosphere.
Furthermore, as is evidenced by the dangers of miners on
the front lines of coal collection, coal is not a clean energy source. Burning
coal releases carbon dioxide, mercury, sulfur, and other toxic chemicals into
the air. The consequences are widespread health issues and damage to the
environment causing and worsening climate change.
10. A. Summarize the biography of Prof. Stephen Hawking? 7M
B. Write a paragraph describing your recent vacation. 3M
Holidays or vacations are words that bring joy to everyone
but they mean different things to different people. For some people it would
mean fishing in your uncle’s boat or visiting your grandma’s place or simply
lazing around. For me it means reading books, watching movies, cultivating new
hobbies and playing. At the beginning of my holidays all I did was sleep. Then
I decided to do my holiday home work. Then I began reading the Harry Potter books.
My parents took me to Wonder World. We had great fun there. There were rides
that completely frightened me and took my breath away but I still enjoyed them.
Just when we thought of returning it began to rain. We got drenched. It was
simply splendid.
